Q; How do I know I am getting a quality Firm Fill installation?

A: All Firm Fill underlayment applicators are factory trained. Our mix designs are stated in our literature. You know exactly what you will receive when you select a Firm Fill underlayment.

 

Q: Are Firm Fill underlayment systems fire rated?

A; Firm Fill underlayments are used in a variety of fire rated systems. Firm Fill is one part of a complete assembly. Please refer to ULC listings or contact Elmhurst Gypsum Floors Inc for further details.

 

Q: What floor coverings can be installed over Firm Fill underlayment?

A: Virtually all floor coverings can be installed over Firm Fill underlayment.

 

Q: Does the use of Firm Fill underlayment improve sound control?

A; Yes, Firm Fill underlayment is but one part of a recognized system. By adding mass to any building you increase the STC or airborne performance of the structure. You can improve IIC or impact by using a sound mat system under Firm Fill underlayments.

 

Q; What are the typical uses for Firm Fill underlayments?

A: Typical uses include flattening existing and new floors, sound and fire assemblies.

A: Firm Fill is strictly for interior use and must have a floor covering.

 

Q: Can I stain the surface of the Firm Fill underlayment and leave it exposed?

A: No, Firm Fill is an underlayment, as such it must be covered with a floor covering such as carpet, tile, or hardwood, etc.

 

Q: How long before I can walk on the floor?

A: The floor is dry enough to walk on in approximately 90 minutes and should be ready the day after the pour for your other subcontractors to return to work.
